Sušárny ovoce v přidružené lesní výrobě
Peterka, Lukáš
The aim of this final thesis is to emphasize the advantages of using classic drying ovens in order to find out what types of drying ovens exist, describe them, and propose an optimal solution. The work is focused on the construction of old dryers that do not need electricity or other fossil energetic sources, possible to be built on owned or leased land. Based on the gained knowledge, the alternative proposal was designed and can be adapted and can be adapted to the time, financial and also professional requirements of its implementation. The work contains a small analysis of the purchased products associated with forest industry. The economic aspect is also taken into account in order to get an awareness of costs and possible profits. The goal is therefore to provide the inspiration for an alternative or additional use for the owners of small or a larger forest lands. The main contribution of this work is the alternative design of the dryer, its budget and plan, which is possible to implement for a better farming management.
Cesium-137 in forest fruits
VRBOVÁ, Anežka
Significant artificial radionuclides occurring in the environment include Cs-137 from nuclear weapons tests that took place in the atmosphere during the 1950s and 1960s, and nuclear power plant accidents, such as at Chernobyl block 4 and crash at Fukushima. This bachelor thesis compares the amounts of Cs-137 and K-40 in different types of forest fruits, such as blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. Certain sites in Šumava were selected for their collection, where there was significant radioactive fallout after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident in 1986. Using semiconductor gamma-ray spectrometers, the specific activity of Cs-137 and K-40 was measured. All samples were measured in the dry state (dry matter). Cs-137 measurement values ranged from 1,143 Bq.kg-1 to 500 Bq.kg-1. For K-40 measurements, the values ranged from 166 Bq.kg-1 to 1280 Bq.kg-1. Differing values in individual localities are the result of uneven rainfall when the radioactive cloud passed over our territory after the Chernobyl disaster. However, there are also differences between species of forest fruits, which exhibit different accumulation properties due to different root system depths and their surrounding soil properties. The measured values were compared to the established limits and radiation sources found in our environment. The values measured are not high and compared to other sources of radiation are negligible, which has little impact on our health.
Methodology for detecting the presence of cranberries and lingonberries in processed products using molecular SSR markers: methodology for practice
Kučera, Ladislav ; Ovesná, Jaroslava
The subject of the methodology is a procedure for diagnosing the presence of lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea L.) and cranberries (Vaccinum macrocarpon L.) in processed products such as tea or fruit ingredients of many food products (jams, jelly, purree, tea). The methodology exploit DNA sequences that are typical for each plant species. Thus, molecular DNA markers that characterize the plant species by SSRs (single sequence repeats) are used. The methodology describes the extraction of DNA from the assumed matrix, the use of selected SSR markers and the analytical data evaluation procedure. The method can be used in any solid equipped molecular-genetic laboratory. The method is applicable for the characterization of DNA isolated from any part of the plant, fruit, and derived food or food supplements. Method describes the procedure and necessary equipment to perform the analysis. Protocol recommends how to evaluate the results.
